Welcome to Fall by GiaZeries Welcome to Fall by GiaZeries
I am pleased with my work, it was nice to do a relaxed work. With the leafs changing and the Winter just around the corner I thought I'd make this idea I was bouncing around into a seasonal work.

Happy Fall!

Have some stars! -Confetti style!- Still hate the star system to be honest.

Shit I can't think where to begin. I love it, and love how much of the character you were able to put in. Knowing and having gotten to play with Trey this really fits him well so that's definitely a bonus there.

I do love the colors and they fit the season and Trey both very well. The pose itself is fantastic, so visually this fits well together. Anything I am spotting are typical things that you have been improving on. I adore the background, and I do like the pattern/texture you used to make it seem like the sunlight is coming through a tree canopy. I approve this very much.

Shading: In environments like these, you could really play with a lot of color-reflections that I think would have been visually impacting if done right here. But that is just a mere mention, my concern is Trey's wings and the vines - these have been left flat. Yes you have the texture on them but you can clearly see trey's skin has been properly shaded under the texture, so that makes things sit oddly in my eye. (Something like last additions sorta thing, if I'm making sense). Regardless, it makes him looking from a more realistic style to a more 'cartoonish' and the mix just strikes me, personally, as weird.

My only other critique on this would be his attire. It's gorgeous in design, but as you may know I don't like brushes because of this: You just used it at it's regular setting. With how those gems would be on his body, they look flat and as such look like the brushes they are instead of entirely in the picture with him. Which is interesting because you did excellent on the environment with those brushes. =)

Also his eyes are gorgeous. <3

Alright, lets get this critique started by braking things down shall we.

Positives
Tone. The tone of this drawing is great. Warm and welcoming yet something is slightly off. creepy. I love it.
Composition. You filled up the page and yet it doesn't feel like a tight space. A hard thing to get right I tell you. And you nailed it with the perspective. yey!
Texture. WOW that's a lot of texture.

Now for some Negatives
Proportions. When dealing with a naked figure, you need to be careful with not only proportions but anatomy. I would recommend looking up some references on shirtless men, and study how the muscles are built and put together. Also looking at some Anatomy books never hurt. (I have like 10 so far and I still want more :I )
Another thing is the wings looks rather off. Look up references on bird wings to help you make them look more believable and real.
Texture. WOW that's a lot of texture. I know I said the exact same thing as a positive, but that's because its done too well, as in too much. There is a lot to take in and it is a bit distracting from the main figure. There is so much in the ground and right behind him and barley any on him and his wings. Shading is one thing, texture is another. What could have used more texture however are the vines and wing feathers. To make them both stand out as what they are and not get lost in the background.

It is a great drawing and I hope this critique helps you. :)

You know fall is my favorite season, and I adore the colors here, too, so vibrant. The figure amongst it all is nicely serene. Lots of detail in this one.

Love what you did with the perspective and the hand. Also love the shadows of the leaves above speckled across the image. The vines interact quite nicely with the figure. The contrast between his pale skin and the general orange-red-fall colored scene is also very nice. The only thing I can really see that is maybe a bit off in my eyes is that there doesn't seem to be a shadow cast by him. Granted, there isn't very much ground showing underneath him, so it's just a very minor thing.

Thank you for the wonderful review, and I can see what you noted with the shadow issue.

Okay, seriously, wow. I love his pose, and his hair, and his eyes and lips are so so SO pretty, and his whatever-he's-wearing (especially classy underwear?) looks wonderful with the little chains and the jewels, it's detailed but not too much. <3 Plus the vines are fantastic and I love the grass, the perfect amount once again.

BUT I SERIOUSLY CANNOT GET OVER HOW PRETTY HIS FACE AND HAIR ARE OH MY GOD.
