Snow- Falling

"Why aren't you with the others?" Helina blinked at the man with orange eyes. The young woman had been bringing the group some blankets to help them keep warm in the barn.

"Some one must stand watch." Iszac provided with a weak smile "I did not think you were allowed out here." The girls Mother had only been swayed to allow them to stay in her barn after they offered an exchange in labor for shelter from the snow. Helina had been called away from them several times yet-

Catching his look she tossed a blanket over the man's head, giggeling when he made no try to pull it off. "I am, just not alone. She is convinced your brother is a witch! That he has been turning into a wolf and killing the sheep." She pulled the blanket down to have a look at him. "But that means your a wolf witch to then..."

Unsure of where she was going with this, he stood wtill and waited. When no answer came he sighed "Do I look like I eat sheep raw?" Or at all really, he could barely choke meat down as it was; sheep would surely make his sick.

The woman suddenly produced a cross, pressing it to the man's forehead. She looked a bit let down when nothing happened. "I guess borrowing Nana's cross to fight your evil wasn't needed."

Iszac gave a small chuckle at the girls enthusiasm, looking away with a small blush when she scowled at him. After a moment he turned back and gave her a growl, baring his fangs. "A cross works on a Witch, or a wolf, or a devil; but it does not work on me. But now you know to much- We will have to eat you." He leaned close to her, giving a startled look when he was swatted at.

His look got her laughing before she used the blanket to lead him to sit, joining him and leaning against the man. "Your not charming enough for a wold, not scary enough for a witch, and your not mean enough to be anything else but a leaning post."

Slightly startled, he eventually managed to relax a bit. "A post is not a bad thing to be."

Helina curled closer, she had a bit of a crush on the tall quiet stranger. Over the months her attraction had grown, but spring would come and it would end his staying. A few more weeks of late night talks were all they had, and she hoped he was as interested to have them as her. "Have you and your brother decided where to go once the thaw comes?"

He sighed, not keen to dwell on the fact that they were going to be hiding on the road again soon. They couldn't stay together here, they would get caught. The thought of leaving the pack for Helina had come, but staying to be with her was a danger to the woman that had worked her way into his heart. At least they had their nights to spend together. "Possibly East, or South; but where we will settle is up not known."

"I wish I could see where you go." She sighed, hand tracing his chest.

Pausing Iszac took a calming breath "I wish for you-" He froze up. He wanted to ask her to come, he knew she would be safe among his brothers. She could be family. But he knew she was not yet ready to leave her own. "I wish, I hope; I can come back here and see you."

The two settled in, putting troubles behind them for the moment and enjoying the silence of winter and the shadows of snow falling. Tonight was for being together, later they could worry over the spring.
