"You need an heir, I need an heir; the entire thing is perfectly legitimate and safe. StarCrost is one of the oldest and most creditable labs in INCEPT." Kraesny wrapped an arm around the older Drannd. He knew Conselium needed an Heir. Badly. A Drannd of his age probably should have already had one and put them through schooling. But the man had faired through more then a few nasty events in his life, and wasn't well looked on by many.

The blond looked at the other, a bit worn from the topic. The Brode engineer had been at the topic for sometime now, though he was unsure why he had become convinced that Conselium was the perfect match for this was beyond him. "I remain hesitant on the idea, and I am sure you can understand why. Besides I am not sure if I would be able to properly father a child with how busy I am." It was one of the last problems with the set up that the other Drannd proposed. Both were very busy men, and these children no matter what were going to live a life in the spot light. They would need a lot of emotional support.

"I'll be Mom." Kraesny stated, laughing at the generally dumb founded expression on his fellow Drannd. "Look, its not like we are getting married. We are two males making a business agreement to go in together to gain heirs. These things have happened before, just not exactly like this." He gave a thoughtful hum.

"Are you sure you do not have a lady in mind that might be better suited?" Conselium questioned, one that he had kept bringing up again and again.

"I've told you, not yet. If I am getting a woman I need a fire ball that wants all this." He gestured to himself "Because of what is under the wrapper." Noting Conselium's stare he grinned. "Who knows, maybe I've already met someone that wants it; but he's too afraid to ask."

"... I will pretend you are not leering at me Kraesny. The joke was funny the first time, but its gotten old." The wingless Drannd gave a light chuckle. "Possibly going through with this will attract proper company to us. After all it would be most convenient for us both if a romance was to start up after we had gone through with having a child."

Kraesny broke into a wide grin "Hey, Mommy has no issues if Daddy finds a nice looking pair of legs to chase after. Or even an entire woman for that matter." He winked, only being encouraged by the good humor he saw in his friends expression. "And if not a Lady, well there are many many genders, and many many species; I promise I can help you find just what you need to get your motor running."

"My motor is always running, but its not carnal lust that drives me." He corrected.

"I'd love to be able to display the neuron processes in you head on a screen and revel in it." Kraesny moved to get up and fetch a drink for his friend.

"Why does that sound underhandedly vulgar?" Conselium questioned taking the drink from the other.

"Because I talk the same way to an engine when I want to peel the cover off. Cheers to genetically engineered heirs?"

"Cheers. Might as well get the rest of the way in the water instead of standing at the shore."

Idan honestly had never seen so much hype over a breeding being done through his lab before. The moment the pair had gone to get interviewed, it had popped up as gossip on a Tir informant web site. People were so nosy on Tir sometimes! Much to the distress of some of those people, Idan and the entire lab were not telling them anything about why the two men had been seen together going into a clinic for an interview.

Kraesny on the other hand, had much to say. Mostly that any one questioning what he was doing was a Moron. They were on the verge of a new Century, and things like this were going to have to be accepted if any form of progress was to be made. Tir after all couldn't afford to fall behind technologically, and getting ruffled over something that could be a benefit to any family that had fertility problems was stupid.

Conselium did wander from time to time if he had made the right choice in getting into the situation he had with someone that liked to pick fights on intergalactic broadcasts.

When the results came out that the two had managed not one, but five fertile eggs; Kraesny was happy to crow about the fact to anyone that would listen, something that was tolerated by most. When the five hatched and the new parents arrived to pick them up, they were happily informed they had four little girls and a little boy. Four pure bred Corca, one Dove. And much to Kraesny's joy a pair of Brodes. Well to be clear he was happy with everything they had rolled genetically and was excited about everything that would come over the next forty years.

Ianthinarum

One of the four little girls from the group, Ianthinarum was as much a ham as her mother, as she was intelligent like her father. Early on in life she took to a fine path between being a girly girl as was popular culture, and being a grease monkey like her Dad. It was hardly strange to find her dragging her Mother and siblings to have a tea party while sitting around a half constructed shuttle defense Lazer. Her side quest in life aside from being cute, was being a pain to her mother. It was like clock work that Kraesny would have an important press conference, and she wanted to put glittery heart tattoos on her mother's face. While she thought it was funny, her Mother found it was handy, hey kids attracted attention; even more when you were being a good parent. She loved her father equally, but didn't much like being on Tir. But when there she was full of love and affection for him, just like with her mother.

School was a breeze, well outside of writing class and history. She wasn't much for those, and it was not helped by the fact her Mother encouraged that she didn't have to be good at everything. She was friendly and talkitive, to everyone she met; and generally did her best not to step on any toes. Well in front of people, nothing wrong with having a private opinion. While she had a water ability it was not so much something she could use for offense, just an ability to pull water out of mud or other materials. It was something she dabbled in as she grew.

At her adult ceremony she had her Soolia implanted in her chest, taking her mother's last name. She also announced she was joining GUARD, which her mother had not known of up until that point and gave all a goo laugh with his reaction. She was off to officer school a month later with great expectations for the future.

Perniger generally knew when to speak and when to be quiet. She was always a child that was willing to listen before acting. At an early age she showed talent with mechanical items, and her Mother had no issue in encouraging it to flourish. But, the life she had on the Arch Angle was not the one she was keen on. Visits to her father, and long spans where they stayed on Tir so they could propperly know the man and the culture of his birth. Drannd simply put were greedy sexist bastards. And that was why she decided she didn't want her Daddy or her brother living alone with them. Her brother was destined to be the Heir of her Daddy, so he was going to have to deal with all of these people; the least she could do was stay near by to protect him.

Schooling went well, she had average grades across the board. No A's consistently in any one class, but more then enough to Graduate. She took her study of water very seriously, learning the magic as more of a show art however. People enjoyed watching a pretty woman do elegant things apparently. She did not go to higher schooling, she knew her father would employee her to work on small technological devices. She wanted to be ready to move when her brother went to move.

The time happened when her adult Ceremony came, it was the same day she took her Father's last name as hers; and that she announced she would be moving to Tir with him. It was no surprise to her Mother, and he was comfortable letting her go. She had intent until her brother found a wife that wouldn't abuse him to act as his guard, and when her father needed support to be there for him to lean on.

The trouble with Crinita was that she was never very clear what she wanted in life. She was one of the families two Brode girls, and like her sister was soon set up similar to her father in how his energy was controlled so it would never hurt her as she grew. Possibly because of this she was never ending ball of energy, happy and curious; and just never stopping. She always wanted her Mom's attention or Mom's friends attention, or someone's attention; a tiny glutton for affection and praise. It was likely due to this want for praise she early on named herself to be the heir of her Mother. She was extremely displeased of course when Mom said she needed prove her worth as such- but soon after was right on target for such!

She was not as capable of some of her siblings, so had to work twice as hard to learn the mechanical things they seemed to know so easily! She had to work Extra hard to get perfect marks in school! She would push herself hard! Even in magic, she would work to channel the energy the way her father did so she could use similar technology and how to use her ice manifestation to flash freeze small items to affect how the metal solidified. She Graduated a tad early, but never stopped her uphill battle to glory! It wasn't until she was taking her mother's last name at her aging Ceremony that she stopped to think-

All her siblings that had gone before her? None of them had claimed to be her father's heir. She'd been competing against herself the entire time. She took to a fit of laughing right in the middle of her speech before loudly calling out that she was to be her Mother's sole Heir.
